The Patient Screen Minimize

A record for each Patient is created covering everything from weight to the microchip number; from treatment warnings to current diet; photos of the patient and upcoming appointments.  A summary of the Patient’s clinical history identifying major problems is displayed in a scrollable window and details of current prescriptions can be quickly accessed.

The current Standards of Care Compliance status is displayed and nearly due or overdue treatments are clearly identified.  A series of customizable, species-specific fields can be displayed providing extra information such as the food type or wormer last purchased, sire or dam, etc

Plus these fields can automatically be updated when you bill an item. So if a client purchases a wormer from you, RxWorks will automatically update the wormer last purchased field without you having to enter it manually - saving time and also ensuring consistency each time.

The species of the patient will determine which fields are displayed - there are fields that are appropriate for a dog, but should not be displayed when you are treating a cat or a horse

As with the Client screen, an Attachments function is available where documents relating to the individual Patient are stored. The Print option for this screen provides for the printing of patient histories, patient's compliance with your standards of care, information handouts, forms, letters and certificates.

Each patient can have an unlimited number of reminders and warnings.

A history of all correspondance you have sent regarding the patient is immediately available for review and/or re-printing.

Is your backup working? Minimize

Have you ever got a flat tire and gone to get the spare only to discover it is also flat? A backup is like a spare tire, you only need it when you need it. It is easy to forget about but when you need it you really need it.

That is why if RxWorks detects your backup has not completed successfully in several days, a warning message appears in the "Notifications" area half way down the blue panel on the left of your screen. We do not want you to discover your backup is "flat" when you need it most.

Remember your backup will contain all your patients medical records which you must have to effectively provide ongoing care to the patient as well as helping to protect yourself from legal liability. But just as importantly, it contains all that client and patient information that protects your financial well being. Imagine if you were no longer able to send reminders or you lost all your clients addresses and phone numbers, along with details of their animals.

For further protection you should always take a copy of your backup offsite every night. If your clinic burnt down and you had paper records, you would lose everything. If you are using RxWorks and you took a copy of your backup offsite that night, we can have you back in operation as soon as you can get a new computer and rooms to operate out of.

In addition, the RxWorks Server Configuration includes other important safeguards.

Allergy Warning Minimize

If you have recorded notes about an allergy this patient suffers from, a warning with the specific notes will be displayed as soon as you view the patients record. Similar notes can be displayed for information on the attitude of the patient, such as "get a muzzle" or "he kicks when approached from the left rear".

Shared ownership Minimize

In the equine industry, horses are often owned by several different clients that all need to be billed for their share of the veterinary work. And it is no good sending these bills to the address where the horse is located as the owners are normally not there.

The ownership button in the bottom right of the patient screen allows you to define who the owners of the horse are and their different ownership percentages. Rxworks will automatically create the bills for each owner according to their ownership share saving you hours of work. On a change of ownership, any outstanding liability of the old owners remains with those clients and any new charges are allocated to the new ownership from the date the change took place.

The location button on the patient screen allows you to specify the location of the patient with directions and how to get there for the ambulatory veterinarian.
